      The blame for my issue falls on more than one person, but had Alamo Title put even a little effort into their part, maybe it wouldn't have been an issue. My lending company told me I could bring a check for closing, but did not specify that it had to be a Cashiers Check from a bank, and not a personal check, which we are unable to get since we bank with USAA and they have no locations anywhere near us. So we showed up expected to finish closing on the house, and left, instead, without being home owners. On top of this, we had to do a wire transfer, which wouldn't complete that day, doesn't go through on the weekends, and won't happen on Monday because it's a holiday, AND it cost of extra money we didn't intend to spend. Katy claimed they don't take personal checks over 1500$, which was a laugh, because they took our option period check for 1650$ without any complaint. Also, had they made even the slightest effort to verify anything with us, rather than hoping the lending company would do it all, we would have known about the check issue and found a way to work around it. Never at any point did Alamo Title reach out to me about ANYTHING. They didn't call or email me about the option period check, they didn't verify I was actually coming to the appointment that my lender scheduled, and they didn't verify I knew what payment methods were accepted. I do not recommend Alamo Title.
