  I've been a member for many (+15) years. I retired 3/15/2020. I recently found out that if your account is inactive, i.e. no deposits,(interest does NOT count) for 2 years, the State can takeover the account. I went to the Market St. Office only to be told "it's Headquarters and there's no actual teller". I wanted to make a deposit to keep my account "active". Downtown Lowell on Friday afternoon is not the easiest place to find parking! I paid $1.50 to park for <15min. There's nowhere on the website, that I could find, that states there's no teller for transactions at Market St. THAT would have been helpful as I would not have bothered AND saved $1.50. I drove thru Lowell & the construction of Lord Overpass to find the Hale St office, where I made my deposit in < 5 min and was gone. A little communication goes a long way. So, NO teller at Market St "headquarters". Lastly, it's my opinion that when a member retires, but keeps the account, Align, and ALL other CU, should be advising the retiree to keep the account "active" with a deposit. You know if the State gets a hold of it, you'll play H--- getting it back.

While our Market St. Headquarters is not listed as a branch on our Locations & ATMs page, we understand the confusion and have made the clarification on our website. Thank you for your feedback. If you were to visit Market St. for any reason in the future, we do have a small parking lot that is available for members at no charge. In accordance with the Massachusetts Unclaimed Property Act, property becomes “unclaimed” when the owner has an inactive account for three years. We do send letters to notify members of the inactivity. To keep an account active, you are welcome to make regular transactions, which can include direct deposit, automatic deposits from another financial institution, mail-in deposits, transfers, or withdrawals.   if you ask for a specific credit card they will steer you into another credit card with a higher interest rate, they have also threatened their members and others multiple times in a harmful manner, they also sell every persons information
