  I recently refinanced my home and my agent was Laura Elkins. Laura was very professional and knowledgeable during this entire process. There was a time that Laura was not in the office because of not feeling well and Laura still would return my phone calls along with checking on the status of my refinance. I highly recommend Laura Elkins and Alpha Morgage !!

  My husband and I were first time homebuyers coming from NY looking to relocate to NC. We were introduced to this company because it was one our real estate agent Susanna Willock with Coldwell Banking in Fayetteville, NC (who is absolutely fabulous I highly recommend her if you’re looking for a real estate agent) worked with. We did as much research prior to applying for a mortgage and our mistake for thinking our loan officer Marcela Melo and others would be knowledgeable and have the lines of communication open for us throughout the process seeing as this was our first time instead of assuming we know how this whole thing works. Long story short there was constant opened ended answers, always needing clarification on top of the clarification we received and often times we would reach out with questions and wouldn’t get a response back or it was with a response that sounded like “you should know this.” My husband Is in the medical field and when it came down to our closing and employment verification our loan officer told us his job was not sufficient for proof of income because it was not transferable to another state isn’t that something that should’ve been verified at the very beginning? I complained to her supervisor who thought it was odd himself and looked through her notes where she had a question next to income but couldn’t help rectify the situation. So we were faced with losing out on the property or buy it as a secondary home and switch from an FHA to a conventional loan which required us coming up with 20K to put down in the middle of a pandemic in a matter of days. The lack of accountability was baffling these are large lump sums of money and peoples lives and little mistakes like this can cost someone everything. I’m glad we were able to get the home but so sad with the hoops we had to jump through because our loan officer dropped the ball.

  Started working with Thomas Baldwin and his team in early to mid November of this year(2021) now less than a month later, I close in a week. Looking back on it, the only struggles I had was searching my house for the requested documents. I never had any problems getting a hold of Thomas or anyone from the Alpha mortgage team. I always thought buying a home would be impossible for me but now here I am ready to be a homeowner. Thank you so much Thomas and team.
