      The whole loan process was going very smoothly until AFN, without any notice, jacked up my closing fees by $3000, allegedly because my appraisal came back a little lower than expected, though the LTV was still well under 70%. NEVER, at any point, was I told that this could happen and the only reason I didn't immediately cancel my loan application was that the Fed had just raised interest rates by .75% so I couldn't get another loan at my present rate. I can't help but think that AFN KNEW this when they jacked up my costs. This left a terrible taste in my mouth and this is why I would never recommend them to anyone else.
