  I highly recommend partnering with Laura Leavy as your mortgage loan officer during the homebuying experience. As a first-time home buyer myself, the process had the potential to be overwhelming with deadlines moving quickly. Laura helped navigate the process with ease: equipping me with helpful information, various options to consider and a person that I could strategize with and talk through different scenarios. She understood what was important to me (ex. Ability to pay my loan off early, not messing with a monthly PMI, etc.) and helped curate a loan I felt 100% comfortable with after asking a million questions – she was very patient. Thank you Laura for your due diligence and expertise, much appreciated!

  If you're looking for an educational, communicative, and overall unforgettable experience, I would encourage you to look elsewhere. I wish I would have found another lender and I don’t want you to be fooled by Thrives reviews and make the same mistake I did. I am a first-time home buyer, and I started this process back in Spring 2021. I was very excited to work with Laura and her team and learn all about what it takes to buy my first home. Sadly, my experience was opposite of what I was hoping for. Initially, I was working with Amy who was very good at telling me what to do and when to do, but not so good at explaining why or giving me any kind of helpful insight. I had lots of questions and had requested that she call me on 2 separate occasions. She responded with “I will call you shortly” or “I am working on another file; I’ll call you after I’m done,” but I never got a phone call. I was about 4 weeks into the process and I still had not heard from Laura except for some auto generated email communications. I only spoke directly with Laura Leavy once via phone, but I had to email her and ask her to call me. When I finally spoke with her, I had expressed my concerns with Amy and her communication and Laura only made excuses for her saying, “she does get busy” or “she just came back from a long weekend,” which wasn’t the case because I had spoken to Amy on both Friday and Saturday that weekend. Laura didn’t seem thrilled about helping me either and at that point I knew choosing Thrive was a mistake. I had told Amy several times that I was new to all of this and I needed some clarification or questions answered and I expecting to be taken seriously. Rather than call me and try to make it right, Amy just used a middleman to communicate with me. She would send emails to an employee and that employee would have to send them to me. I never spoke to Laura or Amy after sharing my concerns. I felt very brushed off and disposable. The lack of professionalism, communication and kindheartedness was extremely disheartening, and I really wish I would have gone through a different lending company.

  Myriah, I appreciate all the time you took to write this review and to spell out your frustrations with Team Leavy. With you being the sister of one of my employees, both Amy and I were told that the communication would happen between you and her. So I am sorry that you felt so alone in the process. That is not our goal and not how I have built my reputation over 30 years. I have talked with Amy and your sister and we have put things in place to make sure that no one goes thru the experience that you did. We try to make sure that all clients feel important and that we take the time to answer any and all of their questions, and I know we failed you. No matter the things we put in place to make sure that communication happens in a timely faction, sometimes it just does not happen that way. You have been heard, some of the things you bring up will be changed and addressed so that we can get back to the 5 Star reviews are are used to. Stay well.
