I asked for a title search on my family's property as I am planning to purchase. 80% of what I know is out there was not included. I was told after the search was done that they only go to the records department at Chesterfield County. There was and is much more information out there. There are people from other areas. Had I have been told this before engaging them, I would have gone elsewhere. They asked for a family tree on two separate occasions. Which I provided. I received an email saying that I said someone was deceased who is alive. I never had that conversation with anyone in that office. And question about why I would pay my own family's taxes. Then they told me that I owed them an additional fee. I don't mind that but I wanted a full search. I emailed them on certain names, incidents and dates. All of which was ignored. I don't need surprises. The majority of what they sent me, I already had. Judging from the reviews that I am seeing they are good for doing closing but not title work. Maybe they should stick to that.
