My son was approved for an auto loan so we went out and found a vehicle. We gave the dealer our down-payment and proceeded to secure the loan. The bank called the dealer and told him that the down-payment goes to the credit union and not the dealer. I've never heard of anything like that. Would they have wanted our trade in vehicle if that's what we used for a down-payment? Then they wanted copies of our bank statements to show we withdrew the money for the down-payment. Needless to say, I wasn't going to do that as it's none of their business where the money came from. After almost 3 weeks of back and forth with them we gave up and went through the dealers credit union. Something shady seems to be going on at Atlantic Federal Credit Union. Now we have to cancel our accounts and go to a bank that actually conducts business properly. DO not use this bank!!!
