  I’ve been a Bangor Savings customer for nearly 10 years. I like this bank so much that I decided to continue banking with them through several cross-country moves. This poor review is for this particular branch and specifically for my negative experience with a loan officer there. My partner and I just closed on a lovely house — our first — and had a very positive experience with our agent, with the sellers, with the selling agent, with pretty much everyone throughout the process with the exception of our loan officer. She had very little patience with us. On at least five occasions she did not do what she said she would, whether that was call us on this day or let us know about this or get back to us on that. Her communication was unprofessional and her tone patronizing. I’m not sure what the lending equivalent to “bedside manner” is but she is lacking it. We got so frustrated about halfway through the process that we asked to speak with her superior. That request was ignored until the night before our closing, when we finally received a phone call from someone who was willing to talk us through a few of the confusing intricacies. I’ll continue to use Bangor Savings as my bank, but I won’t be frequenting this branch and I’ll shop around before going through the lending process with them again.

  When it comes to customer service and communication for the simplest of personal banking products, Bangor Savings seems to be operating in some sort of parallel universe. Not for us. We moved our account elsewhere.
