  I have been with bank of the James since the days when it was then cooperative building & loan madison heights (checking & savings accounts). The bank of the James madison heights far exceeds the five star review, ALL of the folks there are extremely friendly,helpful, courteous and efficient. I use the bank of the James madison heights for all my personal financial affairs not only while here in the USA but also while abroad (I hold dual nationalities American/French) and have found the bank of the James madison heights branch accessible, proficient and heartwarming to be greeted and treated like I just stepped in from down the road instead of actually being an Atlantic ocean away. BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO BANK OF THE JAMES MADISON HEIGHTS!!!!!!!!

  Avoid this bank if you don't like random holds on your account and for your debit card to be often declined out of the blue. There is no way to contact them outside of business hours to get the block removed so if you're in a situation where you need your money look elsewhere.

  I have been banking here for over 15 years.. They are considerate and kind.. They always call me if any issues arise which I have never had that kind of service from any other bank.. Friendly Family oriented bank who cares about your individual care and banking needs.. Would recommend to anyone to choose Bank of the James as their banking institution.
