  I recently opened accounts at Black Hawk Community Credit Union and after I got my debit card when I tried to use it and it was declined , error read invalid pin. I called customer service and they said to call the number to activate it, I reactivated it then tested it and I got the same results so I took it into the Branch and they checked it and found that it was activated from the wrong telephone so they were able to take care of the problem. I have found working with the local staff is always more helpful.

  I never leave reviews but I have been dealing with what should have been a simple and easy issue that is still not resolved since several weeks ago and it has motivated me to leave this review. Many weeks ago my card was canceled due to credit card fraud. Upon ordering a new card over the phone a representative helped me with the process and since I recently moved I informed the rep of my new address so it would come straight to me. After 10 business days of the card not arriving I reached out to the credit union to see if they knew when it would arrive. The rep told me it was under an old address and it must have been sent to my old address. Okay, no problem, everyone makes mistakes even though the first rep ensured it would be shipped to the new address. The second rep verified the new address and I confirmed it was correct and after another 10 plus business days of it not arriving I reached back out. The same rep told me that it was activated! They are telling me that the card I have been waiting for has been activated but I still did not have it! For the third time I gave my address and the rep told me that they had an old address on file! I never got an apology for their company ordering the wrong card twice and to my amazement they never offered to check to see if whoever activated it had used it without me knowing! When I asked how long it would take to get a new card the rep told me another 10 business days! Once again, no apology or an offer to expedite the shipping for the trouble. All I was told is that "I put in another order for you. Have a good day". Unbelievably, terrible service!!! You would think that the customer service from a small community branch would be MUCH MUCH better than that. After being treated like that after being with Blackhawk for many years was a slap in the face and they lost a good customer because of it. Over the past few years I haven't had to use their customer service so I never got to see how bad it was but they consistently proved otherwise. Compared to A LOT of other providers that offer better benefits and 24/7 support versus the very limited hours they have plus the terrible service makes you wonder why anyone would still bank here over the competition.

  Love everyone at my Stoughton branch which is the only reason I haven't changed banks since my move to Middleton. They do not have a branch in Madison or Middleton.
