  Do not bank with centra! And don't listen to these fake 5star reviews. I would get fraud alerts for trying to make 10 to 20 dollar online purchases, but they allowed someone that had gotten ahold of my account number to make a $1000 transfer to a capital one account without question. I dont have a capital one account. This transfer overdrafted me even though I had asked for overdraft protection when I opened my accounts. They told me that my accounts were only protected for debit card use, so when I had to make all new accounts I asked for overdraft protection for everything, card, online, transfers, etc. A few months later an annual charge I wasn't expecting overdrafted me again. So this time I closed out all my accounts and switched to another bank. A few months later I get another centra fraud alert for one of the accounts I had closed. They never deactivated my debit cards. While the tellers at the madison branch are polite, the manager is always rude and hateful. If you try to call them they never answer, you always get forwarded to their 800 customer service line. If you call that line you have to expect to be hung up on while holding for a rep the first time or two that you call. I have also been hung up on by reps when I wasn't even being rude, yelling or cursing. When you do get through, the wait is usually 30+ minutes. They always try to give you the runaround, "you have to speak with your branch manager", branch manager says you have to call them, on and on until you finally get someone to resolve your issue. Stay away from centra! They won't protect your money or do what you ask them to with your accounts.

While overdraft protection is available, it doesn't prevent an overdraft from occurring. It allows a transaction to clear using a different account or our Courtesy Pay service.   Just ordered checks and was charged for them before the checks were free if you had savings . Not any more!!!

  Hi William, I apologize for the delayed response. Our former rewards program was retired in favor of our new, all-cash Member Loyalty Rewards. The more banking you do with Centra, the more opportunities you have to earn cash. To start earning rewards, you just have to open a consumer checking account with Centra! You can then use the cash for anything you want, including check orders. To use your rewards, transfer money from your Member Loyalty Account to your checking account.
