  Central Bank has been an important partner of Kids Who Count! As a small nonprofit we have been banking with them for decades and they have come through for and helped us in so many ways. When we applied for paycheck protection during COVID-19, the staff of the SF branch helped us through the application process and we received our funds in 2 days! They really care about the community they serve.

  Very Disappointing! I went to take money out of my account to find that CENTRAL BANK had closed my account without out my knowledge or consent and sent my $2,000 to the state. I verified my contact information with the bank staff and my address and phone number were listed correctly. I told the bank staff that I had not received anything in the mail or a phone call stating they were going to close my account due to inactivity. The bank staff also said that it was strange, but there were no notes stating that they had tried to contact me; it was because they hadn't. Long story short they said there was nothing they could do for me and it was my problem to get my money back from the state. Just be aware if you have do business with Central Bank they can close your account without your knowledge and then it is your problem to recoup funds!

  Hi Michelle, we're sorry you feel frustrated. At Central Bank, we aim to provide the best customer service while maintaining quality standards and compliance with regulations. After 3 years of no use, accounts are marked as "dormant" and funds are sent to the state as unclaimed property. Before funds are sent, we mail a letter giving account holders ample time to reactivate the account or close it. In addition, each of our office locations are required to make attempts to contact the account holder for notification purposes. After not hearing back, regulation requires that we close the account and send unclaimed funds to the state. Our team is looking at information on retrieving funds back from the state.   I found myself in a pickle from a credit card scam. They were there promptly an guided me through the process. They helped me get relief from the company scamming me, and also treated me with dignity. They taught me a lot about how to keep this from happening to me again. Thank you, Heidi and Sara.
