  I highly caution those who wish to engage Mr. Pfeffer as their real agent and cannot recommend using or hiring him. We found him to be out of touch with us as clients and wholly motivated by the sale--not our interests as buyers. Like many Vermonters, Soren made many assumptions about our intent and our finances that set us up for disaster. Not everyone buying property up here are "clueless flatlander with a big bank account". Mr Pfeffer not only misrepresented who we are--but misrepresented himself as impartial, or even remotely interested in being a good representative. The result? We got our house, but missed critical negotiations that we believe could have balanced certain liabilities. Costs that could have been avoided add up in total negotiations. Whatever you do, do not under any circumstances allow yourself to be mislead by the "laid-back" style this man exhibits. He simply does not care about the buyer. I have never in my life met someone so absolutely out of touch with his client's needs during a stressful time of buying a home. We complained numerous times to him about his lack for proactive representation and to be fair-did not choose to fire him. At first, we thought Soren to be a bit receding, as he was not proactive or engaged in out interest. Accounting for a difference in style or personality is one thing but we were immediately alarmed when he misstated our inspection times and cost us one week. Luckily the seller granted us the time back. After this, he advocated continually and countered inspectors and our contractors so such that we had to ask him--for whom do you work, the seller or us? This was noted not just by us, but by our GC and electrician. He did little to nothing to ascertain problem areas of the home and and deliberately underrepresented our wishes on more than one occasion, botching the inspection time allotted, the negotiation of appliances and last., failed to ensure that in fact we were going to occupy a safe home. We had to insist on removing dangerous open wires and having getting the water treatment taken care of. Embarrassingly unprofessional and near useless in negotiations, I would not entrust much to his poor advice. We regret that Soren seemed more compelled by the easy buy-side money and not on representing our need and limited finances--buyers beware!

  Having sold properties in Vermont, Massachusetts and California through Realtors, Soren Pfeffer is the best Realtor with whom I have ever worked. Soren is ethical, conscientious and experienced. Early on, I was very impressed with Soren's advice that always had my best interests in mind. Over time, I learned that Soren also has a lot of experience in the fields of construction and architecture that provide him with a very wide and deep comfort zone when it comes to Real Estate. In summary, Soren was a true advisor to me because he had the experience to know what should be done, advised me well, and had the energy and local connections to get my property sold very efficiently. I'm sure that Soren can do the same for buyers as the new owner of my former property was also very happy with the sale.
