  I was having a lot of issues with my account this week, but a super helpful young woman gave me all the resources I needed and personally assisted me over the phone. Most helpful and friendly customer service I've ever received. The work ethic of many of the tellers at this branch is *chef's kiss* magnifique.

  I signed up with Southwest Community Federal Credit Union (the local credit union that this National entity recently bought out) because I wanted the ease and simplicity that comes with a local, small-scale credit union...which I thoroughly enjoyed for many years with SWCFCU. All of that is gone now. I would highly recommend avoiding this institution! If you would like specific examples as to why, please continue reading. •They changed my free checking and savings accounts to those with a monthly fee without informing me •My accounts went negative because of the newly imposed fees. When I contacted customer service they stated that they made these changes to all free accounts, opting to make the changes and wait for members to contact them if they wished to have the changes reversed....Unethical in my opinion •A manager named "Jimmy" at the sunset location displayed gross incompetence by assuring me that a credit line of mine was still active. I even asked him to please double check. He left the office and returned shortly informing me that his "head teller" confirmed that the line was still active. He verified my address and informed me that a new card would be sent to me in a few days....2 weeks later I received a new debit card, not the credit card I was assured. I again had to go into the branch, only to find that the credit line was actually not active. •In light of financial complications arising from the carelessness in their misinformation, I needed to employ the overdraft option of my checking acct which they had also assured me was an option. When I asked to do so, the same manager informed me that while I had overdraft protection, it needed to be turned on to utilize..."okay turn it on"...now that will take 24-48 hrs to register in our system....Once again, I suffered financial complications and losses in light of this manager's incompetence. •When I returned to utilize the overdraft "privilege" two days later, I asked the same manager if he would waive the $30 fee associated with doing so....I bet bet you can guess what his answer was..."No, I can't do that." He made no apology, but successfully conveyed an attitude of smugness, as though I was asking for a handout. There's more, but hopefully this has been enough to keep you from having to suffer the frustrations and possible financial losses of banking with this institution.
