      I brought a tire in for repair when I noticed a screw in the tread toward the outside edge. I was told they would check it for reparability. They said it could not be repaired and the hole where the screw entered was leaking air. It would cost $265 + to replace the tire (not much wear on current tire); I took it home and checked the air that evening and later the next morning, I put sudsy water on it, but no leak was detected. I took it to a tire shop and they had it in a bath of water, raised and lowered the pressure and said there was no leak!
