  If you want to be misled and and strung out on your mortgage this is the company for you. We were trying to finance a home for my son and were told that Churchill would be a good fit for our needs. Although he had no credit, he did have appx. 55% of the sale price as a down payment and I agreed to co-sign on the loan. This process began last December with the pre-approval process, which we received. We found a house and began the loan process in January. We requested a loan for less than he was approved for. Time and time again we were told there were no problems and this was a "slam dunk". Tina advised that there was a problem in getting an appraisal that it might be a week to 10 days to get an appraisal report to underwriting. We did the first of 4 extensions with the seller on this based on this information. After the 3rd extension, I asked Tina if she thought it would be OK to transfer the utilities (at the sellers request) to my son and that we had agreed to purchase about $8000 of furnishings from him as well. We were told that "this deal is going to happen!!" Nothing to be worried about. We were set to close the week of March 15th when I got notice that the file was in the hands of the underwriting department but the underwriter was a new employee and it had to be reviewed by a supervisor. Last Tuesday I was told by Tina that she had escalated the file to a senior underwriter and again there was nothing to be concerned about. Next call...everything is fine! Thinking we were still going to close on Thursday or Friday until Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 I get a call from Tina. "The Automated Underwriting Service has now decided that we will not be going through with the loan". For over 3 months we wasted time with Churchill and were consistently misled into believing that we had a done deal. I was certain that we were going to lose the house and our earnest money thanks to the horrible service we received from Churchill. As things turned out I went to another lender out of sheer desperation last Friday and we will be closing on the house this coming Friday at 11:30. That's correct, 5 business days from start to close. Never in my lifetime would I recommend Churchill Mortgage.

  I once called Churchill around 2008 to refinance my house. They said someone would call back. While I waited, I called a different mortgage company. By the time Churchill called the next day, my house was already financed. Around April 2018, I called them for the purchase of a new house. After several negotiations on how they could give me a loan (I've been debt free for 15 years and had no credit score and just started a new business), they said they would call back. I still haven't heard from them. Now, my credit score is around 800. Needless to say, I am doing business with a different mortgage company.
