  I, and my family, have been with COFCU for a number of years. After going through some financial set backs, COFCU helped us reestablish ourselves by trusting us with loans and a credit card. Through their belief and our determination our family bought a home several years ago. My children have also started establishing their credit through COFCU. As long as COFCU is around we will be lifelong members. We can never thank them enough for giving us a second chance.

  In August of 2019 I opened a loan account at Commonwealth One in Harrisonburg, Va. In October of 2019 I decided to open a checking account there also. I closed my account at BB&T and had a cashiers check wrote. I deposited the check which was around $3200 in the new account. The money never showed up in my account. I was them put into contact with Shea Baum. I had a picture of the front and back of the check faxed from BB&T to Commonwealth One. Shea found the check and informed me that it had been deposited into someone else’s account. She was supposed to correct the issue, but never did. I was then in contact with multiple other people at the institution who were going to look into the situation, but all failed to do so. In August of 2020 I was again put into contact with Shea Baum. She requested that I send her the check again because she could not recall the first time. Since it has been almost a year and a half since the check was written and I have since closed my account, BB&T has been having difficulty locating the check. I have been working with BB&T since August and still no luck. This situation is in no way BB&T’s fault and is entirely Commonwealth One’s fault. I have paid off my loan so now this situation has angered me even more because I no longer owe them anything and they have $3200 of my money. I am currently in college and working a part time job. This has caused me much stress, sleepless nights due to worrying, and it has took up much of my time. I am very disappointed in the way this has been handled and the disrespectful customer service I have experienced. I don’t normally post things that are this negative, but I felt it would save others from this grief. I am hoping that eventually I receive the money that I worked hard for.

  Over the last couple of years, service has plummeted. If you make a transaction make sure to check it for accuracy before you leave; tellers have made several mistakes that I have had to go back and correct myself later.
