  I have my mortgage with this company because they bought out Elmira Savings and Loan. They were late many years with tax information and do not send yearly payment statements or anything of the kind. It's the worst communication and reporting I have ever experienced with a loan and surely all about limiting their costs. I have to call them periodically to receive information on my account status; otherwise my bank payments go to a black hole; and I receive no acknowledgement they have received my payments.. You won't hear from them for years unless you contact them. In my opinion a yearly report should be sent. Today I was delayed getting to the bank and so I went to see if I could pay online. Sure enough they have a 1-800 system with a cost involved. You call the 1-800 number and I agree to pay by check or by card. Only after the whole thing was completed did the system then announce (far too late to cancel) that it would wait an entire day before they would process the payment; which will now be late. Some time ago, they mailed a refund to me instead of paying my account as intended. I have told them several times over the phone to apply the money to my account. Now 6 months later I get this letter claiming they are waiting on me over this matter. I don't recommend this bank for a mortgage unless you already bank with them because the service is terrible. I believe there is a purposeful effort to make it difficult to pay them; all in hopes to find ways to charge you more for the non-service they are providing.
