  My fiancé is a concrete worker. He does work in town and a client gave him a personal check written to him. He took it to Consumers because this is the bank on the her check. At first he explained he did not bank there but provided two forms of ID. The lady walks away from the counter and the comes back saying they cannot cash it. He asks why, she says it’s almost 5:00. It was only about 4:10. So I called to find out why this was. She says, they don’t cash for non consumers customers. So my question is why even precede with the conversation in the beginning if you don’t accept cashing checks for non consumer customers? Instead of being lazy stating it’s almost 5.. when you still have 40 mins till close, just say we don’t cash non consumers checks from the very jump. I bank here myself and I’m not happy with how they handled the situation. I’ll be weighing the pros and cons to closing my account.
