The credit union I have dealt with before worked with less than stellar credit and I thought that was the purpose of credit unions. I had a bad patch a couple, few years ago. My credit rating went down. I've been working to rebuild my credit. For the past year it has been in the high 600's and occasionally it's hit 700. I applied for a credit card to help build my credit and was denied. On the plus side, there are many other credit unions out there. So long and thanks for all the fish! EDIT: The denial I received stated this was based completely on my credit score.
