      Moved away from regular banks several years ago. I am a retired CPA and I do understand the regulations that have been dismantled for banking in this country. Those regulations were in place because of the crash of 1929 and it is my opinion the protections should not have been removed. S&Ls like Desert do provide a little protection for their members, conventional banks do not. Banks are big business and 1929 can now happen again more easily and the banks will take your money, there is no more federal insurance to protect your accounts! If I have understood their recent moves and I believe I have, this is now buyer beware for banks!
