Came over a few days ago to have quite a few rings appraised and was very happy with the results. The man who helped me was very kind, and explained everything in detail. He was willing to test any gold jewelry I had even if it wasn't totally clear on whether or not it was real. I got a very good price for the rings! He explained to us the value of gold vs. silver and why we would've only gotten $10 or so had we not had any gold. I found another one later and wanted to come back since I had such a great experience and had a little more understanding of the value of metals. The ring I have appeared to be 18k and was stamped, so I wanted to have a professional opinion on it. The next time I came, there was a woman who seemed rather displeased upon seeing me. I showed her the ring and she looked at the stamp and said it was only worth $25 without testing the gold. I decided to keep the ring, but I'm disappointed since I had such a good experience the first time around. The woman seemed very annoyed at our presence overall, which was such a stark difference from our initial visit.

I brought in a few collectible coins for consideration and was disappointed with the offer. The counter woman was either trying to undercut me or I believe most likely did not know what basic .900-.925 American/British silver coins are worth. I admit that she was at least fairly pleasant. I simply went to a superior pawn shop down the street on Devon named Cash Exchange Pawn Shop 1236 W. Devon. They immediately knew the situation and gave me my asking price which was more than double the offer from The Devon Pawn Shop. Do yourself a favor and if selling or pawning go to Cash Exchange rather than Devon Pawn Shop.
