  -Translation into Spanish later- Edna Garcia is absolutely the best Mortgage Loan Originator you will ever work with, period! Here's why. (First off, my background is in Engineering / IT). We recently closed on our new construction home, but our research for a lender began back in 2020 (the home construction started in early 2021). We followed the recommended steps of getting quotes from three lenders, and were pre-approved by all three. We were able to compare the basics such as interest rates and closing costs, but we were looking for more than that. We needed the following 4 things: 1) a loan officer that had EXCELLENT and REGULAR communication via email, 2) a lender that practiced good security hygiene with our sensitive documents, 3) a lender that didn't suffer from understaffed offices and inexperienced employees , and 4) a lender with a proven track record of excellent customer service. Edna Garcia with Gateway Mortgage fit the bill 100%! Not only was Edna able to offer us a competitive estimate, she is the kind of person that pays attention to every detail. (If you've ever heard a horror story about a lender, you'll recognize that most of it boils down to lack of communication or staffing issues). Gateway Mortgage does not suffer from the growing pains of younger mortgage lenders, yet it excels in customer service while leveraging secure online portals for document exchange. (In case you're wondering why we didn't choose the other 2 mortgage lenders, trust us when we say that we personally spoke with Regional Managers and were NOT treated kindly. We were bullied by 1 particular company just because we asked for an updated Good Faith Estimate after 6 months had passed!) At no point did we ever feel pressured during the mortgage application process with Edna. She even took the time to answer all our questions BEFORE we decided to officially select her!
