      I recently finished up refinancing my home through Equihome. I worked with Sam and Nikketta who were aptly attentive to all of my needs throughout the process. Even though I ran into some stress and hang ups with the IRS, they were able to help me through the issues and secure a solid rate before the rates keep skyrocketing!       We refinanced our home through Equihome Mortgage in February. We got the rate we wanted but found that they kept finding reasons to add more fees to our closing costs. We were told it was because the date for our rate lock kept passing and they felt we should be responsible for paying for extensions, but we always responded the same day for Equihome's requests for information and then they would not get back to us until the next week. No wonder to lock date kept passing. Our finalized closing documents even had to include Lender credit "for increased Closing Cost above legal limit." We're not sure if it's incompetence or deliberate driving up the price, but it was frustrating either way.

      Received a deceptive mailer from Equihome Mortgage using our actual lenders name informing us that "Your initial loan with [Lenders Name] has been identified as paying Mortgage Insurance premiums that are no longer needed. This exclusive Mortgage Insurance Cancellation Program may be eligible prior to the deadline date allowing you to save hundreds per month. Elimination of this unnecessary monthly premium MUST BE initiated by you in order to meet the next cut-off date of March 25, 2022." We do not have mortgage insurance with our lender. Equihome Morgage would not know if we have mortgage insurance with our lender. The mailer is a deceptive lead generation tactic for, I assume, refinancing services. Do better.
