  I have tried hard to be a First Citizens customer. They don't make it easy though. Nothing has ever been quick about this bank. Most everything I have done has taken a few attempts to get it right too. Lots of runaround, no one can do what I need done, or it'll be a few days (then never happens). They charge for everything as well. Online ACH? Fee. Cash at the window? Fee. Forget to enroll yourself in online banking because they can't do it for you? Believe it or not, fee. Save a whole lot of your time by using any other bank.

  Worst bank we have ever TRIED to work with. Will be closing our account immediately. Would not allow us to wire OUR money when we were on vacation. If you are in black mountain just take the short drive to HomeTrust. They went above and beyond to accommodate us when first citizens refused.

  Be careful when signing up for an account as the advisors here make a lot of mistakes. I signed up for a second checking account and was not told I would be charged a monthly fee of $12.00 for it. After a year of only using it to transfer funds from my other account, I was shocked to see a monthly service fee. When I called customer service they switched me to a free checking account and only refunded me 12 out of over 100 dollars worth of fees. I NEVER spend money on my bank accounts, so I definitely would not have gotten this account if I was told I would be charged for it. They also got my e-mail address wrong (they added a random H to my e-mail address; which doesn't have an H in it so it was clearly a typo. I had trouble verifying my account by e-mail for a while because of this until I was able to change it.)
