  I went into First Command to talk about a auto loan refinance they were able to get me approved within a day with only a 2% interest rate compared to the 10% that I had at my previous bank it was a very quick and easy process the advisor was extremely helpful I will definitely be going back to them again for other financial needs that I may have in the future they are very military friendly I highly recommend them to any service member that is looking to expand their financial life

  This review is intended for all offices of First Command: 1. Military stay away. There are many better choices for insurance salesman and certainly for investment advisers. 2. Their offices are mainly located near military bases and in my opinion, they prey on military personnel. Myself included. 3. I started First Command when it was still USPA & IRA in Beeville Texas in 1983. Over the course of long military career, I moved, and changed advisers at First Command every time. Most had no clue how to manage my investments, but I was not smart enough to change companies, so they lost a lot of my money. When accounts started to drop in value, no one in the company recommended changing funds, I had the same funds for 20 years. WHY, you might ask. Because they get a monthly commission, not just from insurance, but from your investment choices. Pretty hard to recommend a better performing fund when you won’t get a commission from it. 4. I’m writing this review today, more than 10 years after I left First Command, because I’m reviewing their insurance products, and did not realize how much I’ve paid in for whole life, for over 30 years....and how much I get back. Wow....I should have been smarter.
