      I did some work in the Mason city area and received several checks from customers that bank with first security, I havent found one location that has been open. Wouldn't matter if I had because they will not cash a check if you are not a member. I would have no problem paying a fee like any other bank does for non members. I have since been asking clients to pay cash if they bank with first security or I can't accept the job.

Please contact us so we can discuss your experience further, as we need you to clarify the issue. Are you unable to find an open branch, or are you finding open branches that won't cash checks? One benefit of banking with First Security is the extended hours we offer beyond "traditional" banking hours. We have several branches located near Mason City that offer video banking from 7am - 7pm Monday through Friday, and 7am - 1pm Saturday. Through video banking, you can speak with a local teller, get cash, make a payment, transfer funds, cash checks, get your questions answered, and a lot more. Also, our policy is to cash checks written by a customer of First Security with proper identification and if funds are available. You are not required to be a customer if you are presenting a check written on a First Security account, and we don’t charge a fee for you to cash that check.
