  Best Bank in Quad Cities!!! Julia, Jenny, Heather are the most professional bank tellers out there. Super polite, caring and go out there way to help me whenever I come into the bank either to cash a check, or have questions. Claire and Shelly are very respectful and professional too and really make my day whenever I come in. Yesterday Claire and Shelly complimented me on how I conduct myself and that really brought a smile to my face!!! Last but not least NICK had been there for me day 1 and always given me 100% positive communication and always excited to see me and help. Like I mentioned before fortress bank has the best customer service you could ask for and you WILL NOT GO WROMG by giving them business, will get great results trust me.

  My buyer's agent pushed Fortress for my mortgage lender (back when they were still "First State Bank") and being a young, first time home owner, I took her word for it. Lesson learned. For the first few years I had no issues with them because I didn't miss any payments. Then I had one late payment due to my own human error, and later on a late payment over some confusion regarding auto-payments and their own employee telling me no action was needed from me. While things got sorted out each time with some emailing back and forth, in both situations the tone of the letters and immediate threats of late fees and hits to my credit score after years of making timely payments left a bad taste in my mouth. Perhaps it's because I didn't do any in-person dealing with them since the nearest branch was 40 minutes away, or because I didn't have any other accounts with them, or maybe I just took it a little too personally, but my experience wasn't great. I'd like to give less stars but since I only used them for one thing, I feel maybe it's not fair to the whole institution and can't speak to the quality of their other services. However, I do not recommend them as a mortgage lender, especially if you don't do any banking with them to begin with. Their site was hard to navigate, their auto-pay process was convoluted, and their customer service was disorganized.

  The worse bank I've ever been to. They tried to charge $35 for cashing one of their own checks. The manager was very rude. I would recommend never using this bank
