  Glenwood State has very helpful staff. They helped build my credit score from nothing to over 800. I moved away from the Alex area but continue to bank here because their app is very user friendly and they are prompt with my online requests.

  They're not a bad bank but they're definitely no credit union. Glenwood is NOT a state.

  Hi Brennan! There are a lot of things that set banks and credit unions apart--but I can tell you that we are extremely proud to be a community bank! Community banks are known for investing in the communities they serve, and for focusing on building meaningful relationships with their customers. We're not sure what you mean by Glenwood not being a state. Our name is Glenwood STATE Bank because we were charted by the state back in 1907!

  I can’t believe how unjustly my father was treated by this bank where he has been a customer for over 20 years with good credit and excellent payment history. Giving him a mortgage rate over 4% in these times of historic lows is unconscionable. Shame on you Glenwood State Bank for taking advantage of him. I will be helping him to refinance and move his business elsewhere as soon as humanly possible. Buyer beware. This financial institution is not to be trusted.

  Hi Elizabeth. Every mortgage scenario is unique; there are a lot of variables that factor into the interest rates and fees. Credit, property types, and timing all factors into the financing plan. In your Father's scenario, we feel confident in the rate we gave and can assure you that it IS a historically-low rate, given his unique circumstances. Furthermore, we are very transparent throughout the process; we never try to surprise our customers when it comes to rates or fees.
