      The worst and most stressful experience working with Chaz Irrthum. It was seriously a first time homebuyers' nightmare. I'm not sure if all of Goldstar Financial is this way but that was our experience with Chaz. At the beginning he was great. He answered all our questions and we thought communicated expectations appropriately. A few weeks before closing though he started being less responsive and started pushing us to "buy points" with this company without explaining clearly to us why. A week before closing the Thursday of 4th of July weekend he sent us the closing documents and our cash to close was $3,000 over what we thought. When we tried to call him he said he had left for the entire weekend up north and would call us when he got to his cabin. He never called us back. He told us we needed to sign the closing document and we could talk or change it later. To make matters worse, 3 days before closing he told us that he had not factored in our townhome association costs and that he was having trouble financing the loan. Essentially 3 days before closing our loan fell through!!! Buying our first house during COVID was already stressful and instead of helping us relax, Chaz only made matters worse and we ended up going to another company that saved our loan.
