  Love Great Midwest Bank of Hartland! I have been a customer for over 20 years. The people are polite, helpful and informative. They go above and beyond any banking needs or questions I might have.

  We used Great Midwest because they were one of few banks that would allow 5% down for a construction loan. Communication was extremely poor. Nothing was explained well or at all unless asked. We receive electronic copies of someone else’s paperwork while going through our process- total breach. We had to do a lot loan and construction loan and were told we would receive electronic copies of our closing paperwork after closing, never did and our Mortage officer Dawn, stopped responding to our emails after we closed on our construction loan. We had to have another broker from a different company contact to get our paperwork which was sent from someone else at GMB. After we finished construction we heard from our original officer Dawn asking if we wanted to start a refinance, it was laughable.

  This would be a 0 if that was an option. Used the ATM to get out $300 and no cash was dispensed. I called them up as I sat outside at their machine and explained the situation. They asked if I was a customer of theirs, I said "no" and they told me there was nothing they could do. They instructed me to call my bank and tell them to fix the problem on my end. Well...my bank didn't screw up! Great Midwest Bank did! No apology, no explanation, nothing. I mentioned that someone else may come up and take out $40 and could possibly get $340 instead. The woman proceeded to tell me if it's broken no one will get money so not to worry about it. Worst bank experience/bank customer service I've had and I deal with banks for my own business all the time. Based on this experience, I never plan to work with them if given the choice.
