  I just love this credit union! For years I put up with the way regular banks treat their customers, like they’re doing me a favor to let me bank with them along with their high fees for everything. I didn’t know that banks are for profit and credit unions are non-profit. Huge difference! As a member of HAWAIIAN FINANCIAL FCU, I am part owner and have a say. And they are always willing to work with me on my financial needs. I used to drive from Hawaii Kai to Pearl City to do my banking sometimes just to say hi, and they always remember me. I’ve had great customer service from every branch. Needless to say, I’ve given up on regular banks. I make all my friends open an account at a credit union so they can see for themselves.

  I actually want to rate this branch NEGATIVE stats but that wasn't an option. I went into the Pearl City Walmart branch and the TWO tellers were very rude, I requested to change my $100 bill into 20's, I gave them my husband's acct number, the Male teller "Ariel" told me because I wasn't the member I couldn't make change, but he did say he could change me (1) $20 bill per day...a lot of good that will do...he then asked his "supervisor" if he could make the change and she (Daryllynn?) said no ans that my husband would have to come in to make change. I don't understand why they couldn't just make the change for me, I also suggested that my husband might Close his acct due to this terrible customer service but the supervisor didn't care and just continued to say my husband has to come in to make the change...I feel as a one time courtesy they should have just made the change...I ended up buying something from Walmart for $1...I work in customer service as well and I would have never treated a customer the way they BOTH did...that was a WOW experience...and not in a good Way!!! I am telling g everyone I can to NOT bank with HAWAIIAN TEL FCU!!!

  None of the branches ever answers their phone.

  Lee, I apologize we were not able to assist you. I am not sure what was going on that each branch was unable to answer your phone call. This is not an excuse but sometimes branch activity is unpredictable, thus I recommend that you call our main branch at 832-8700 as we have a dedicated receptionist to field calls. And, even if it is a busy day, you are more likely to get a human on the phone. If you had a loan question please call them directly at 832-8740 as they too have a dedicated receptionist. Also, feel free to reach out to me at 832-8760 as I can also be a resource, but note that I cannot perform financial transactions. Bottom line, we failed to meet your expectations and will work on doing better for you and our membership.
