  I hate to even leave this review. This is the bank I’ve gone to since I was 5. This is the bank all my family goes to, has loans at, and has supported for years. Their representatives used to treat everyone with the utmost respect and work with you. However within the last couple years, it has gone incredibly downhill. If you’d like a bank that tries to get every penny out of you they can, does not work with you, who’s representatives and system is outdated and charges random regular $30 overdraft fees for their system not being up to date and the app being delayed, then go for it. Personally, I like a credit union that is kind and understanding, filled with knowledgeable humans who understand we are human too. Edit to add: it would be possible to monitor transactions if the app and their system worked effectively each time. Even after transferring money from one account to another, there can be a delay in the system which automatically charges $30. Regardless of money in the account or not. They will also still charge a $30 fee if money was taken out or not. It is not possible to avoid the fee, even with transferring money, because of the outdated system. Obviously I transferred money, and it will still pull $30 the next day. Just not a great system. Things happen, and we will move to a different bank who values their customers’ time and money and are just kind people. Final edit after speaking with customer service: I came in person to correct the situation, and they still didn’t put the money in the right account. Even though I specifically wrote the account number, they put it in the wrong one. Sure to cause another $30 fee. Their overdraft protection is not synced to the app. I spoke with Kathy in north branch randomly because that’s who answered when I called after my in person visit, and she was the kindest person I’ve spoken with and said it was not my fault. She reversed the fee and was understanding of humans simply being human and that technology is not always accurate or fair. Absolutely would be a great person to train your other representatives. You catch more flies with honey, and more Minnesotans being nice.

  Thank you for the feedback Kelsey. We understand that from time-to-time members can lose track of their account balances and that's when our overdraft program kicks in and a fee can be accessed. The best way to avoid this fee is to monitor your account balances through our online banking or mobile banking. You can also set alerts through online banking to let you know when your account is falling below a specific dollar amount - ensuring you always know how much is in your account and can plan for your purchases.
