  First time home buyer. I was educated on the entire process before hand and informed during the entire process. They were able to pre-approve me instantly. Once I found a home they closed early and bought me dinner!!

  If you are on their wholesale side for brokers please run! I will NEVER in my life use them again. From the lack of communication from your Account Executive to actually having someone respond to your emails and calls to employees ignoring your calls, to almost having the seller back out. This company is one of the worst. The only reason the seller agreed to the extensions (2X almost 3) is because of MY communication with updating them. Save yourself the headache and stress because your reputation will be tarnished after dealing with this company. Run just run as we almost lost the deal the day of signing because of this company from miscommunication then to switching of funders. Just a nightmare. Thanks to Andrew AE assistant and Janice Palmer stepping in as the funder who saved the deal. Save yourself the headache and run from using Hometown Equity Mortgage DBA The Lender.

  Avoid, avoid, avoid!!! I cannot stress this enough! We worked with Michael Zau and it was an absolute nightmare. He had no idea what he was doing and we came SO CLOSE to losing our new home through no fault of our own. He regularly ignored the calls and texts from me, my realtor, and my husband. He always claimed that something would be ready "in twenty minutes," and then he just went dark in communicating. He tried to blame his entire situation on COVID (which I even have a hard time believing), but really, before the alleged situation with COVID, he was giving us the run around. His supervisor is equally as bad and defended his behavior. He gets all of the numbers wrong, which is baffling, given that his job is to get them exactly right! He should pay my realtor and my husband for constantly correcting him and basically providing him with job training. We spent several evenings on and off the phone and e-mail, for HOURS, with our anxiety through the roof. I literally drove to my closing appointment not knowing whether or not closing was actually going to take place. We got it done at the very last minute. But not before we already spent hundreds of dollars at the new house for no reason other than his errors. I am upset that I have to even leave one star on this review, because I would leave negative stars. I'm still recovering from the stress. Again, avoid at all costs.
