My husband and I recently purchased a 19 acre parcel of land in Steuben County with a small cabin Our experience was terrible. The cabin was to have been in broom clean condition according to our agreement and purchase offer. We were told that was done but not offered a walk-through. We were not aware that we should ask for one. When we went to our property once everything was paid for nothing had been cleaned out of the cabin nor had it been cleaned. We were told the keys would be there as well as keys to a four wheeler that were left there as well none of the keys were there. I Feel that our realtor, Kathleen Patterson, did not do her job as well as she should have. She did offer to clean the property after the fact however we had taken care of the cleaning at that point. She had not been back to the property to check on it either and didn’t really know if what she told us was done had been done. She really had no viable explanation for how things happened to go this way. My take away from this experience is to be better educated in the future and check out the real estate agent with others before going with that person and depending on their expertise
