  I came to J.G. Wentworth as a first time home buyer back in April of 2018. I was turned down by several local realtors, telling me I needed a pre-approval before they could give me any more information, and I found the process to be both frustrating and confusing. I found Kevin through a first time home buyers ad promoted by Tom Coffey with Howard Hanna (another amazing company,) and Kevin was friendly, patient, informative, and very efficient in following up with me. He understood that the process could be a bit nerve wracking, but he took that away with the excellent customer service he provided me throughout the entire home buying process. He even followed up to make sure I knew when my first payment was, as well as understanding how to pay my HOA fees and several other questions I had at first. GREAT company, thank you Kevin!! The entire experience stood out to me so much that when I saw J.G. Wentworth was hiring I couldn't wait to apply, so I could also help first time home buyers and work for a company that stood by me, even though my credit was average at the time and my purchase price was low, I was treated like a million dollar customer. Now if that's not doing business the right way I'm not sure what is.

  First time homeowner of a new construction home and no one cared to explain to us that there could be a huge difference in our real estate taxes. I understand a small increase year over year but not a $900 difference. And they have the nerve to say a lot of customers call about this same issue where there Real Estate taxes are different than what they are being billed by JG. For such a large company they should have a better system in place to educate homeowners of such discrepancy (like at closing). Even after asking them to spread my shortage the amount still is not what they told me over the phone it would be. I will never refer anyone to GJ. Honestly this is probably something our lender should have stressed to us at closing or the builders to avoid such issues in the future. I would suggest keeping your real estate taxes, homeowner insurance and anything else you can completely separate from your loan. Avoid the escrow headaches so you know exactly who to go straight to should issues arise. And don’t purchase with Skyblue Homes.
