      Good afternoon, we are sorry you feel this way. The IRS has had major delays and just like you, has left all tax preparers in the dark. As IRS Taxpayer Advocate Nina Olson sounded the alarm that the rollout of ObamaCare during the 2015 tax filing season could be a disaster and break the IRS. The 2020 tax filing is a disaster and the IRS is broken. • Over one million tax returns filed in 2020 are unprocessed. • The IRS is manually processing prior year earned income and additional child tax credit returns. Six million returns are in suspense. While in suspense, "Where's My Refund" cannot give a status, the taxpayer advocate cannot assist and the practitioner priority help line cannot assist. • Returns e-filed in February are still unprocessed. • Electronic Fund Withdrawal requests have passed their payment dates due to the IRS's inability to process accepted tax filings. The IRS claims that they have up to three weeks after the Electronic Funds Withdrawal date to draw the money. • At peak times, the IRS receives 500 calls per second. When overwhelmed, the phone lines disconnects callers. • COVID outbreaks continue to shutdown campuses. • If electronically filing an amended return, the IRS will take sixteen weeks to process.
