I had been into Jim Bass Ford previously for warranty work on an issue with my radio which was taken care of this was around 50,000 miles. I asked the service writer at the time what the service interval was on my transmission. He looked it up and told me it was 150,000 miles which is what I found in the owners manual as well. So I returned to the dealership for a recall around 147,000 mile and tell the service writer to go ahead and service the transmission while it’s in the shop for the recall. They then inform me that the first service is recommended at 100,000 miles and that they wouldn’t be held responsible for the outcome of the service as it was past the recommended 100,000 mile interval. It clearly says 150,000 in the owners manual and I had previously asked the service writer what the interval was and he confirmed it was 150,000. The service techs and service writer insisted it was 100,000 and showed no documentation to back it up. I left feeling like the technician and Jim Bass Ford are not willing to stand behind the quality of work they provide and have their own set of service guidelines they follow that differ from Ford Motor Companies own recommendations. I will be getting my vehicle serviced else where by technicians I have confidence in. I won’t be back unless it’s for a covered recall.
