We have been looking for land all over Florida contacted Doug and within a few short weeks and two days at a few of there properties we found our piece of heaven closed on a Friday afternoon it was the easiest property transaction i have ever done. My Boss called on Wednesday afternoon and spoke with Doug about 4 properties in Fawn Ridge. He was told that he could purchase all 4 and then within an hour, was told that a family was coming out the next morning to purchase one lot. in the same conversation, told Doug that he would take the tract at Falmouth Farms. Asked if he could fly out in the company helicopter and look at the tract..Doug said yes. Flew out an hour in each direction and loved the property. Realtor went to make contact and send the funds, noticed that the parcel was gone off their website. So he wasted time on the Helicopter and Jet fuel to no avail. We understand first come first serve, but a phone call would be nice. All of this happened within 48 hours and no indication that either of these properties was in play elsewhere. Probably a very nice family that has been doing this so long that they have forgotten to communicate. Would have loved to buy the 20 acres from them.

Thank you for the feedback. We did speak with your boss and his realtor about two different properties that were available on our website at the time of his first phone call. As you stated our properties are sold on a first come, first serve basis. Every buyer must see the land in person before purchasing. On our website customers find video, photos, aerial maps, directions, surveys, and any other information we know about the land. Some families never contact us until after they have researched, drove and inspected our properties on their own. The first contact we have with some families is a phone call when they are standing on our property and want to come our office to purchase immediately. We recommend to everyone we communicate with to contact us before going out to view the land to confirm which parcels are available. It is very difficult for us to notify everyone that we communicate with about a particular property the moment it is sold. In order to purchase a property from us you must come see the land in person first. Then if you decide to purchase we will meet in person at our office in Gainesville to complete the paperwork. We will not sell a property until the buyer has seen it in person and then meets us in person. We have been selling land in North Central Florida for over 40 years and feel this is the best way to conduct business. As stated the first contact with your boss was on Wednesday afternoon. The 20 Acre parcel was purchased the next day (Thursday). A family we had spoken to earlier in the week from Central Florida drove up Thursday morning and inspected our properties. They chose to purchase the 20 acre parcel and closed early that afternoon. We speak to many different families every day about all of our properties. Some follow through and come visit our properties, while others we never hear back from. The next time we heard from your boss was on Friday around 4pm when his realtor called with more questions about the 20 acre parcel and I informed her it was sold. Unfortunately your boss was the third customer to contact us on Friday about Falmouth Farms Parcel 9 that we had to inform it was now sold. We do our best to keep our website updated and return phone calls, texts, emails as quickly as possible. We understand your boss’s frustration with missing out on a property. I have experienced it myself with my own personal home search. My family and I missed out on 3 homes before we were successful in purchasing a home last year. The demand for real estate in Florida is the highest we have seen in over 40 years. We are working as quickly as we can to acquire more inventory to meet the demand for Florida acreage. On a positive note there is another family at Falmouth Farms that has their property listed for sale with another realtor at this time. Please have your boss or his realtor reach out to us and I will provide them with the information on that listing or his realtor should be able to find it in MLS.
