      We didn’t have the greatest experience with our mortgage process, but that is not unusual for mortgage lenders. In the end, we got it done…or so we thought. Just yesterday, we were contacted by our local tax office. Even though we’ve been paying into escrow (and payed Northpointe extra, I might add, for setting up the escrow account), OUR TAX BILL HAS NOT BEEN PAID. It’s Christmas Eve, we to pay a financial penalty on top of our bill, our credit score will be impacted, and, we realized, we had called two different people at Northpointe LAST WEEK because we had thought our escrow account looked a little high. No one has gotten back to us. We did get a holiday greeting though.
