  I just recently closed on a house and I initially started with the office in Overland, Kansas, unfortunately due to the mishandling of the file and communication immensely I had it transferred to a local office. I advise no one to pay for any appraisals with your debit/ credit card. The information is stored in their system and if a rush appraisal is needed it comes off your card without your authorization. I used my card to pay for an appraisal May 19th. Things got mishandled in the office and the closing date was missed. In order to have it done by the second date set a rush had to be put on it. I was told by a loan officer that the extra fee would be taken care of at closing, but instead, my card was charged April 3rd and was declined because it was a prepaid card and the funds were not on there. I called them about it and I was told that should not have happened and was assured it would not happen again. A few days later I reloaded my card to send money to family and they charged it again April 19th for the appraisal rush ($250) but only this time the money was available. So, if it was going to be taken care of at closing why was my card even charged the very first time for this extra fee. A month later my card information was stored. They tell you they don't keep any card information so how did they keep mine a month later? No one wants to admit to the wrong doing. Which was an unauthorized transaction. Give them a money order or cashier's check when you (the buyer) has to pay something upfront! I'm sure they will delete this but it will be shared elsewhere.
