      I am about to payoff my student loan consolidation and want to tell you what I learned the hardway about Lendkey. They hold to the philosophy that wire transfers between banks are not secure. That is acording to thier own third tier customer service representatives, which I was told when trying to track a missing payment. Your bank or credit union will call it an electronic transfer or ACH, but Lendkey does not accept these. Your financial institution will have to cut a paper check and mail it to Lendkey. They believe the electronic transfer is not secure, and the US Postal Service is. They want you to further expose your financial information (credit card / ATM card / bank information) by putting that information into thier systems. In this day and age of cyber hacking and ransomware, when all it takes is for an employee to open an email, your information can be taken. Why trust anyone you don't have to? Especially when thier are more secure ways to transfer funds / make payments? Thier interest is not in your security, just in your money.

      This place seems like a scam, I have never given them any personal information and none of the phone numbers on the junk mail they send me are searchable on their website. They have an “opt out” blurb on their junk mail and if you call that number it IMMEDIATELY requests your SSN. Sketchy.
