      Though Leslie was timely in providing prequalification letters when we needed them, things quickly fell apart when it came to the loan. After we had signed off on the appraisal, she told us that the best interest rate she could offer was 3.25%. This was nothing near what we had discussed previously or what we thought we might be able to qualify for. Discouraged, we nearly walked away from the sale of our home and the purchase of the new one. Our real estate agent recommended another lender, who was able to get us a rate a almost .5 lower than Leslie/Fairway was able to offer (and in one day). They also got our loan processed in the compressed time we had left. We ended up having to pay Fairway for the wasted appraisal, which was frustrating. My advice is to shop around as it seems Fairway isn't terribly competitive.
