      I’ve been using Liberty Tax in Leesburg for at least 8 yrs & each time, the preparer would pull our previous year’s electronic return, go thru the new tax year’s form and ask for the specific papers related to the area worked on and input all the info right then. If there were any questions, they were answered, any papers needed we knew what to get and in the end, we knew right then what we were getting back or needed to pay. However, not the case this year. The preparer took our papers & said they would get back to us when done. Mind you if we had complicated taxes, or just handed them a box of receipts, I would expect this; however, I organized everything from donations, mileage & volunteering and listed all on a spreadsheet. I realize each item has to be typed onto appropriate forms but multiple entries for same charity were grouped so only one entry would be needed (which was how it was done previously). We also alerted the preparer to an issue regarding a split pension & it was acknowledged. So almost 2 weeks later & after calling & talking to the manager, the next day our taxes we’re done. When we asked about if the split pensions were taken into account, it was as if we were saying it for the 1st time. This question is not asked on our part would’ve cost us $5K. To say the least, I was VERY disappointed in this year’s preparation & am seriously thinking about using someone else next year.
