      After the credit meltdown I felt strongly that I wanted to patronize a community bank that exercises appropriate caution - conservative in the economic sense.. Marion Center is that bank. It is run by people and they don't send junk mail trying to sell more credit cards. Internet-based banking (so important in a rural location - will you spend all that gas ?) is not as good as it could be, but still better than say their competitor, National City (now PNC), which has a heavy website, such a bandwidth pig that it is inaccessible through dial-up and is expensive for satellite or air-card users. Their fees are not worse than other banks. Update: I'm finding Marion Center to be more aggressive with overdraft fees and less out to protect consumer's rights and information than previously. Dropping my rating.
