  My opinion may be squed alittle since this was my first time buying a home and having to deal with a settlement company but I think my wife and I can both agree we really hope its our last time. I understand the concept of the title company/settlement company but it seemed like to me a "middle man" that was never on the same page as everyone else, couldn't get there info straight, poor communication all around, and I'm sure cost me a arm and a leg (for what looked like zero work). We had to use a App to communicate which made it a chore because it wasn't streamlined with the other bazillion emails, texts and phone calls I received on a daily basis. When we did talk, it was delayed/late most of the time ( I had already contacted someone else to get the answer I needed or provide paperwork requested ). I'm in the military so I understand the idea of "hurry up and wait" but they would ask for something randomly without notice and acted like they needed it now or else, like it was my fault they waited. Like I said, maybe I'm not a great example but I have had other friends and family who have had much better experiences buying a home in all aspects working with different company's so maybe shop around.
