      What a horrible experience here today, I've NEVER in my life heard of a bank refusing to deposit money into an account of a longtime accountholder. It was a Dept of Treasury check in my husband and my name, so since we both are accountholders, I filled out a deposit slip and went to deposit into our account. They refused it because he didn't sign (he was not there, he was working) but since it is A DEPOSIT why does it even matter?! Completely ridiculous to outright refuse to do what you are in BUSINESS for?! And not being open on Saturdays any longer but only having hours open 9-5 is not convenient to working customers. So after all this, and discussing it all over with my husband, we will be closing all our accounts at Merchantile, after 11 years of being loyal patrons. We encourage you to do the same, credit union is the way to go these days anyways, and the complete LACK OF AVAILABILITY AND LACK OF SERVICE at Merchantile bank has pushed us to move our business elsewhere.
