  Everyone at Nantahala Bank in Murphy have been very friendly and helpful!! We love banking with Nantahala Bank and truly appreciate the excellent professional and personal service they offer. They seem to make each customer feel welcomed and special. I would highly recommend them for a home town bank!!

  Was just hit with over $200 in overdraft fees. In the past people have called me if they saw activity like this. But for this no one called me to let me know what was going on so I had a chance to borrow money to avoid further fees. I was also told by them today that they can only refund the last fee for $20 because of some regulation. However, I just read online this is not even true. I'm very disappointed with this bank. My family is struggling so badly financially right now. Needless to say, I am very distraught with how they are treating me. I believe they can do something to help me but just refuse to help.

  Gina, We are sorry about your difficulties and the overdraft fees charged to your account. We have provided a one-time refund fee as a courtesy. Under the UDAAP (Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices, a part of the Dodd-Frank Act) rule, we must treat every customer the same. This means that we cannot choose to waive fees for one customer, and not choose to waive fees for another. If we refunded all of your overdraft fees, we would have to refund everyone’s overdraft fees. We do offer as most banks do, ways to help prevent overdraft fees, such as Overdraft Protection, a Mobile Banking app that lets you set an alert when funds are low and Online Banking where you can check your balance daily. Please contact us and we will be happy to help you with these options.

  Waited 35 minutes .told us they were busy. One person (customer) in the bank. 5 employees on deck.Very disrespectful. useless. Do not bank with them. One word to describe this bank A. HOLES. FRANCIS CZWAKIEL USMC (RET)
