  Very pleased with the service we were provided. Joanne Pagan is an awesome representative! We were assisted within minutes of sitting down, even though we did not have an appointment. She was willing to assist us with everything we needed and made the experience very pleasant.

  I'm not a customer here, but I walked in today to simply exchange five $20 bills for a $100 bill for a birthday gift. Of course, the teller raised her eyebrow at me and told me "You would need to be a member in order to conduct such a complicated transaction". When I expressed shock at this, and said I only wanted to exchange some cash, she said the way they do it is, she "would have to deposit the money into an account, and then withdraw it again as a $100 bill". and also asked if I expected her to simply take my 20s and exchange them for a new bill? She looked at me with disbelief that I even suggest such a thing. When I was a child growing up in the 70s, reading science fiction books, I really thought that the future would be so much different than it is now. So much more advanced and utopian, but I can see that we have actually regressed as a society. In case you were wondering, I bank with Bank of Hawaii, and I just happened to be at this location when I decided to convert the money. Of course, in the end, I had to drive all the way across town to my bank to do this simple transaction. And guess what? They didn't ask if I had an account.

  Some of the most incompetent people you’ve ever met. I’m already a member, and via my online portal submitted an application to open another checking account. Shortly after I got an email saying to needed to call PenFed to verify my identity for the America Checking. Someone called me this morning about “a request to update my phone number”. I informed the rep that wasn’t correct and why she was calling me. So then places me on hold to call another person. When she comes back on the phone she tells me she don’t see my application. I then read her the email and without missing a beat she says “are you sure that’s from PenFed”. Read her the email address and she said yea that is us but you didn’t submit for a checking. I gave up told her I’d stay with the bank I’m at now I’m done dealing with them. I use to have a checking and saving but they closed the checking about a year ago because I never used it. Every time I’d call them for something you can’t get an straight answer. They are very difficult to deal with and 9 times out of 10 they don’t know what they are doing. Bank anywhere except here. This guys are horrible!!!!
