  Penn Community bank put billboards up all over. They are trying to build up small business customers with a program called Penn Edge. They claim to offer up to $250,000 unsecured for small businesses that qualify. They also claim a 3 day approval. Wow... sounds great!! I own several successful businesses that revolve a few million dollars in revenue and all turn a profit. Strangely enough after 2 weeks and turning over 3 years of tax returns, professionally prepared financial statements and talking to more than one loan rep, the bank said that might be able to approve $30,000 for one of my smaller companies. Then after that they found that my credit score of 681 was too low to approve even that.

  Was a customer for over 33 years personal and mostly business banking. Due to a very unfortunate family matter the administration asked me to vacate my accounts to another location another bank altogether. Claim that they really had no choice after 33 years of being a customer and having dozens of people make positive claims to my character and being a local businessman myself with hundreds of five star reviews as to my character it seems very evident to me they indeed had a choice and made it. It's a sad State of affairs when you have ostracized your clients who have put you where you are today by making the choices that you make in customer service. If you are a local business or new to the area choose another bank if long-term customer support and a strong commitment to business needs is important to you. After sharing this story with many of my local clients and other small businesses who used to use this Bank I quickly learned they too had similar experiences and had chose to move their accounts somewhere else. It's almost starting to make me feel they asking me to leave is a blessing in disguise after hearing other stories I had no idea about. I miss the small town bank that used to take such good care of me and my local community citizens. Good luck if this is how you are going to continue to treat your clients from here on out and good luck if you choose to do your banking here.
